Case study · Gargs Engineers, custom fabrication manufacturer in Jharkhand

Every job's BOM, work order and dispatch in TranZact

How a Jharkhand custom fabrication manufacturer moved job BOMs off Excel and runs orders, purchase, QC and production in TranZact.

Before

The old wayExcel sheets

Gargs Engineers builds to order, and almost every job is different. For each job, the BOM was made in Excel and then entered into Tally, which held the accounts and the stock.

Parts for several jobs are nested and cut from the same plate. Scrap from the nest, plus around 2–3% burning loss, was shared across jobs. That made scrap and loss per job hard to track against the estimate.

My design and manufacturing engineering team, we have to be very thorough.

What changed

  1. Job BOMs in TranZact, built per job instead of in Excel.

  2. Order to dispatch

Enquiry, quotation, sales order, then delivery challan and invoice.

  3. Purchase from the plan

Indents, then purchase orders, then inward with quality inspection.

  4. Work orders and production entries for each job.

  5. Tally sync for accounts.

What they use TranZact for today

As of October 2026, Gargs Engineers uses TranZact to:

  • Create purchase orders and receive material through GRNs

  • Record quality inspections

  • Log production entries against work orders
