Case study · Prabhat Elastomers, moulded rubber parts manufacturer in Thane

Production logged in TranZact, stage by stage

How a make-to-order rubber moulding manufacturer in Thane moved stock planning off Excel and logs every production stage in TranZact.

Before

The old wayExcel sheets

Rubber moulding runs as one long chain. Raw material goes from the store to the mixing shed. There it becomes a master batch, then a final batch. Moulding comes next, then inspection and packing, then the finished goods warehouse. Each step sits in its own shed.

Production runs in 12-hour shifts. The same part can run for 20 days straight. So stock is always spread across sheds at the same time.

When an order came in, the team checked an Excel sheet to see how much stock there was. Excel couldn't show how much sat in each shed at that moment.

A thousand pieces get produced in the day shift … then night shift is still producing a thousand. And I want to know … exactly how much inventory is there currently.

What changed

In September 2026 the team mapped the whole chain in TranZact:

  1. Each stage as its own BOM

Master batch, then final batch, then the moulded part, then the packed part.

  2. Separate stores for mixing, moulding, packing and finished goods, so stock shows by shed.

  3. Planning from the sales order.

The material planning report checks the order's BOM against stock and lists what to buy. One indent can be split into POs for different suppliers.

  4. Quality checks before stock.

Material comes in through inward and GRN, with inspections recorded in TranZact.

Invoices and payments sync to their accounting software.

What they use TranZact for today

As of October 2026, Prabhat Elastomers uses TranZact to:

  • Log production entries

  • Record quality inspections

  • Raise sales orders and sales invoices

  • Create purchase orders and receive material through GRNs

Questions owners ask

Can TranZact handle a multi-stage process where the same part sits in several places at once?

Yes. Prabhat Elastomers set up each stage (master batch, final batch, moulding, packing) as its own BOM and each shed as its own store. That setup separates stock by stage and by shed, instead of one total.

Can planning start from the sales order?

Yes. Prabhat Elastomers makes to order. The material planning report checks each order's BOM against stock and lists what to buy, and one indent can be split into POs for different suppliers.
