TranZact vs BUSY: the short answer
TranZact and BUSY do different jobs. BUSY is accounting and GST billing software, and its manufacturing page also lists BOM, production planning and job-work features. TranZact is manufacturing AI software that runs sales, purchase, inventory, production and planning. It integrates with BUSY, so your books can stay in BUSY.
BUSY fits when books, billing and GST are the main job. TranZact fits when orders, purchase, stock and production need to run in one system.
What BUSY does for a manufacturer
BUSY calls itself GST-ready business accounting software for micro, small and medium businesses. Its manufacturing page (checked 28 October 2026) lists:
Multi-level BOMs and alternate BOMs.
A Production Planning Report: what you need, what you have and what is short.
Reorder levels, and batch-wise production with manufacturing and expiry dates.
Job work challans, with job work registers for the ITC-04 return.
E-invoices and e-way bills from the same dispatch entry, plus GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B.
What TranZact does for a manufacturer
AI runs your entire operations from enquiry to dispatch. Here are the modules, by name:
Sales: enquiry, quotation, order timeline, dispatch, e-invoicing, payment.
Purchase: MRP report → indent → RFQ → PO → GRN → payment, plus vendor coordination.
Inventory: stock in, bin card, issue, multi-store, reorder, AI stock alerts.
Production: multi-level BOM, work orders, process routing, sub-contracting, production costing.
The MRP engine runs through your orders and BOMs, then tells you what to buy and when.
A photo of a paper entry becomes a system entry. Supplier invoices match to POs automatically. See the production module for more.
TranZact is not accounting software. Ledgers and GST returns stay in BUSY.

You need to track material out on sub-contracting.
You want system stock and physical stock to match.
You want to go live in 2–3 weeks without changing your accountant's system.
TranZact's limits, plainly: if you already pay for BUSY, TranZact is an added cost. Our MRP software buying guide lists what to check on planning.
Questions buyers ask
Is BUSY an ERP system?
BUSY describes itself as accounting software for micro, small and medium businesses. Its manufacturing page adds BOM, production planning and job work. Whether that is enough depends on how much production and purchase you run in it.
Which is better, Tally or BUSY?
Both are accounting software. For a manufacturer, compare the manufacturing features in the edition you would buy. TranZact integrates with both, so either choice works with it. Read TranZact vs Tally for manufacturers for the Tally side.
Can we transfer data from Tally to BUSY?
Yes. BUSY's Tally2BUSY utility imports Tally data exported as XML. BUSY's FAQ says to reconcile after the import. It is not a real-time sync.
Can we use BUSY software for free?
The BUSY Express edition is free. BUSY also offers a 15-day free trial. BUSY's pricing page lists BOM / Production Planning in BUSY 21 Standard and Enterprise.
Are TranZact and BUSY competitors, or can they work together?
They overlap on a few manufacturing features, such as BOMs. But they are built for different jobs, and TranZact integrates with BUSY. The split is simple: books in BUSY, operations in TranZact. For GST on job work, see our ITC-04 job work guide.
