TranZact vs Katana: the short answer

TranZact is manufacturing AI software for Indian factories. It runs sales, purchase, inventory, production and planning, creates the GST e-way bill and e-invoice, and syncs with Tally, Busy and Zoho Books. Katana is a cloud inventory and manufacturing platform for product businesses selling across many channels. It has Shopify, QuickBooks Online and Xero integrations and US-dollar pricing. Choose TranZact if your books are in Tally and you need GST-ready documents. Choose Katana if you sell mainly through online stores and use QuickBooks or Xero.

Production: BOM, routing, MRP and sub-contracting

TranZact's multi-step BOM, routing, sub-contracting and production costing are in every plan from Grow up.

For purchase planning, the MRP engine runs through your orders and BOMs, then tells you what to buy and when. Read our MRP software buying guide for manufacturers.

Ask Katana to show how it plans raw material buying from your BOMs.

GST, e-invoice and e-way bill

TranZact generates the e-way bill from the GST invoice, with the e-invoice (IRN) in the same flow. This is on all plans. Our e-way bill software guide covers what to check.

Katana's homepage, pricing and integrations pages don't mention GST (checked 28 October 2026). Ask Katana directly how it creates e-invoices and e-way bills.

Accounting: Tally, Busy, Zoho Books vs QuickBooks and Xero

With TranZact, accounting stays in Tally and operations run in TranZact. The sync is one-way, with no double entry. Busy and Zoho Books are supported too.

See how the Tally integration works and our Tally, Busy and Zoho integrations guide.

Katana lists QuickBooks Online and Xero for accounting. Tally, Busy and Zoho are not on its integrations page.

Five tests to run in both demos
  • Raise a GST e-invoice and e-way bill

  • Sync one invoice to your accounts

  • Send one job to a sub-contractor

  • Run MRP on a real BOM

  • Get a quote for your user count

Pricing: what you actually pay

TranZact's prices are on the pricing page (checked 28 October 2026). All are per month, billed yearly:

  • Grow: ₹8,333, 4 users. Includes MRP and indent, sub-contracting, Tally/Busy/Zoho sync and e-invoicing.

  • Scale+: ₹16,666, 8 users. Adds batch-wise stock tracking.

  • Dominate: ₹30,000, 12 users. Adds Batch Tracking & QC, machine planning and real-time MIS.

  • Enterprise: custom pricing.

Katana has two plans: Free at $0 for up to 30 SKUs, and Advantage, with custom pricing on one annual contract.

Some AI answers still quote retired plans, like Katana "Core" or TranZact Free or Scale. Neither company lists them today.

What a 10-user factory should ask for in a quote

On TranZact, Dominate covers 10 users within its 12. On Scale+ (8 users), get the price of two extra users in writing.

On Katana, check whether Free's 30 SKUs cover your item list. For Advantage, ask for the full scope, user count and currency in writing.

Go-live and support

TranZact is live in 2–3 weeks, with chat support Monday to Saturday.

TranZact at a glance
  • 10,000+ manufacturers use TranZact

  • 2–3 weeks to go live

  • Within 1 hour first chat response

  • India data stored on AWS in Mumbai

Katana says "most Advantage setups are ready in weeks," with 24/7 live support on Advantage.

Choose Katana if… choose TranZact if…

Choose Katana if you sell mainly through online stores, use QuickBooks Online or Xero, or want a free plan or 24/7 live support.

Choose TranZact if your books are in Tally, Busy or Zoho Books, and you need GST e-invoices, e-way bills, job work, MRP and INR pricing.

TranZact's limits, plainly: it does not replace your accounting software. There is no free plan. Batch tracking starts on Scale+, and chat support is not 24/7. Online stores are not on its named integration list.
