Best manufacturing ERP in India for MSMEs: the short answer
For most Indian MSMEs, the best manufacturing ERP is ready-made manufacturing software that keeps Tally for accounts. It runs BOM, purchase, production, stock and dispatch alongside Tally. Open-source ERPs such as ERPNext or Odoo suit factories with in-house IT or a paid partner. A custom build rarely pays off at MSME size. Check four things first: BOM and job work, Tally sync, the real cost for your user count, and go-live time.
Prices checked 20 Oct 2026. We make TranZact, so we list its limits too.
Option | Best for | Keeps Tally or replaces it |
|---|---|---|
TranZact | Factories on Tally and Excel | Keeps Tally: one-way sync on Grow, Scale+ and Dominate |
TallyPrime | Billing and accounts first | Is Tally |
Zoho ERP | Teams already on Zoho | Own accounts; books move unless you run both |
Zoho Inventory | Mainly stock tracking | Keeps Tally via a third-party one-way connector |
Odoo | Factories with a partner they trust | Own accounts; books move unless you run both |
ERPNext | Teams with in-house IT | Own accounts; books move unless you run both |
BUSY | A one-time licence | Own accounts; books move unless you run both |
Business Central | Larger manufacturers on Microsoft tools | Own accounts; books move unless you run both |
First decision: ready-made, open-source with a partner, or custom build
Ready-made manufacturing software
You pay for a plan or licence; the vendor builds and updates it. It suits most MSMEs without an IT team.
Open-source ERP with a partner
The ERPNext licence is free under GPL-3.0, but you pay for hosting and setup. Odoo's price does not include implementation. Zoho ERP also points buyers to partners, "from custom coding to full-scale implementation".
Custom build
You pay developers to build and maintain it, and it depends on the people who wrote it. See custom ERP vs subscription ERP cost.
Three routes at a glance
Ready-made | Open-source + partner | |
|---|---|---|
Who sets it up | The vendor | You or a paid partner |
What you pay for | Plan or licence | Hosting plus partner fees |
Who maintains it | The vendor | You or the partner |
Keep Tally for accounts, or replace it?
If your accounts work in Tally, don't move them.
TranZact runs operations and passes entries into Tally with a one-way sync, so there is no double entry. TallyPrime is Tally itself. Zoho Inventory has a third-party connector that moves data one way, to Tally; its price is not stated. ERPNext, Odoo, Zoho ERP, BUSY and Business Central have their own accounts, so your books move unless you run both.

What a manufacturing ERP must do (8 checks)
Manufacturing ERP software runs the work between an order and a dispatch. Most ERPs group it into five modules: sales, purchase, inventory, production and planning, and accounts. Check these eight things:
Multi-level BOM
Production orders
Job work
Stock by location
GST invoice and e-way bill in one flow
Tally sync, if you keep Tally
Real price for your team
Go-live time, and who implements it

TranZact
TranZact is a manufacturing AI software which runs your entire operation, from enquiry to dispatch.
The MRP engine runs through your orders and BOMs, then tells you what to buy and when. TranZact generates the e-way bill from the GST invoice, with the e-invoice (IRN) in the same flow.
It is built on 7 years of learning from 10,000+ manufacturers. Prices are on our pricing page; only Enterprise is custom.
Limits: it doesn't do accounting. Inventory and production management are on every plan. Batch Tracking & QC and Machine Planning are on Dominate only (₹30,000 a month, billed yearly, 12 users).
TallyPrime (stay and upgrade)
Fits a manufacturer that mainly needs billing and accounts.
Zoho ERP
Fits a team already on Zoho. It lists e-way bills and e-invoicing, not the plan for each.
Zoho Inventory
Fits a business that mainly tracks stock. Ask how composite items cover your BOM.
Odoo
Fits a manufacturer with a partner it trusts. Implementation is extra.
ERPNext
Fits a manufacturer with in-house IT. Ask your partner about sub-contracting.
BUSY
Fits a buyer who wants a one-time licence. Basic has no production. Standard supports unlimited simultaneous users in the same office.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Fits a larger manufacturer on Microsoft tools. Manufacturing needs Premium.
Also shortlisted: SAP Business One, Vyapar and Marg ERP.

Check what each free option covers before you rely on it. ERPNext needs hosting, from ₹410 a month on Frappe Cloud, or your own server, plus setup. BUSY lists Production & Job Work from Standard.

Which manufacturing ERP is best for your factory?
The best manufacturing software is the one your team keeps using when the floor gets busy.
Choose TranZact if you keep Tally for accounts and run production beside it.
Choose ERPNext, or Odoo with a partner, if you have in-house developers.
Choose a full suite if you need HR and payroll in one app; TranZact covers operations, not HR.
Choose TranZact if you run an owner-led factory that must go live in 2–3 weeks.
Our comparison page puts TranZact beside other options.
